So I'm late in responding, but I still wanted to share.
I started smoking at 13 cause my friends were. Ticked my parents off as they never smoked, but oh well. That was 42 years ago and I still enjoy my smokes. I've tried all the brands over the years, but always came back to Marlboro Full Flavor. As health problems started piling up, I switched to Marlboro Lights and continue to smoke them to this day. I have no desire to quit!!!! I enjoy the feel of holding it, putting it to my lips and sucking in that sweet smoke. It just may kill me, but I'm gonna go happy . . . . and most likely with a cig in my mouth!!! Enjoy people.

I started when I was 8,
my mum smoked benson & hedges, then superkings, and now she is on sterling superkings.
me being the only boy and me having no dad, meant that, I had no male way inside me, to get to the point I have changed sex, whilst at school I had to make do without smoking as the UK is quite tough on you if you are seen smoking under the age of 16.
when I was 8 I asked mum what that thing was that she was sucking on, she said it was a cigarette and said jokingly 'would you like one' I said yes but she said no its not for you, but I kept on and after a short while she offered to let me try thinking id hate it, but she was wrong, I loved every minute of it and was soon hooked, myhabit incresed to a pack a day at the age of 8, now its 3-4 packets a day. when i used to get upset over something when i was younger, she'd soothe me by blowing smoke in my face and mouth, i used to giggle as it used to feel so nice, im 18 now and i wont ever give up ever. I have always got a cigarette in my mouth, my body needs it 24/7, and I will constantly give it the pleasure it deserves. |

I'm 23, I've never had a desire to smoke and actually didn't really like people that were smokers. Then about 3 years ago I went to Iraq (with the US Army). I figured smoking couldnt' be as bad for you as bullets so I bought a pack of marlboro reds and within about 2 months I was smoking 3ppd of reds. I was amazed at how enjoyable it was!!! Who would of thought that sucking smoke into your lungs and blowing it out could be enjoyable!! Anyway, now I'm seriously hooked and don't regret it a bit! Some of my friends give me s--- about the fact that I chain smoke so much, not sure why I'm such an addict, guess I was born to smoke. Plus I love it. The thing I like the most isn't the taste, but how it feels in the lungs when you take a big drag and inhale deep. My girlfriend was suprised when I came home hooked, but now she thinks it's sort of sexy, she says I look good when i smoke. I dunno if I do or not though, but I like it. I tried to get her to start but she resisted. I did get my younger brother to start last year though.
Thats about it |

I started smoking socially about 5 years ago. I just found it was one of the few things that relaxed me and that I found it attractive in many ways. On top of that, I enjoyed to taste and feel of the smoke. Sort of gradually progressed from there - started smoking on the way to and from work and was up to about half a pack a day after 6 months. Then I started having 1 or 2 morning cigarettes (the feeling after smoking your first in the morning when you get out of bed is wonderful). Finally I started taking smoking breaks at work 3 or 4 times a day. Am now smoking a little over a pack a day and love it.
I smoke Marlboro Light 100s - just love the way they look!
How old have you been when you started? |

Growing up, I was constantly fascinated with my aunt's smoking style (her drags, exhales, perfect "round" snap inhales, etc.) In fact, my first-ever smoking experience was from sneaking one of her Vantage 100's from her pack as a teen. To make a long story short, when she realized I had followed in her footsteps, smoking regularly at college, we became dedicated smoking partners in my family, the rest of whom were or had become outspoken antis. We were the "black lung sheep" so to speak. I vividly remember her inviting to come smoke with her after my grandmother's funeral. I eventually became the caretaker of my grandmother's house, and when my aunt would visit for long weekends or holidays, she would often greet me with a gift carton of our then favorite brand, Marlboro Light 100's. The basement became our private "smoking area," and we'd joke about meeting to "smoke our faces off." For all the years of warnings and nagging I'd had from my Mom, it was almost humorous to be downstairs chainsmoking with her sister. Although I've since moved into my own apartment and switched to Newport 100's, to this day she never misses a chance to offer me her pack and a light once we're in private (driving home from dinner, etc.), and we have a great time smoking together, and joking about hiding our habit from my mother

Honestly, I love pretty much everything about smoking. It's not like I was surrounded by smokers when growing up, in fact I was one of those kids who totally hated it...until I was about 10 and suddenly realized I had this urge to smoke. In some ways I think I was addicted before I even started. Anyway, I felt bashful about it and tried to do the closet smoking thing for a while, but obviously there comes a point where that doesn't work too well. I was up to a pack a day by the time I went off to college, which increased pretty quickly with my new found freedom to smoke pretty much whenever. I found that as I became a heavier smoker I really started to love it. Smoking is part of who I am, and I don't regret it.

Hi all,
When I was a young kid, I was probably the worst anti-smoker one could meet. I hated smoking and told everyone he or she would die because of it. Well, that anti-period didn't last long (fortunately ).
At age 8 I tried a few cigs with some classmates. One of them had stolen a pack from his mother. We smoked the whole pack and I was very sick afterwards, LOL, but that didn't stop me. I tried smoking a few more times and at age 10 became a regular smoker.
Have smoked now for over 25 yrs and I never regretted it. Tried several brands, but most of the time I roll my own or smoke Marlboro reds 100's.
Smoking is wonderful, I really like every aspect of it. I really like to do smoking tricks too (if someone could help me with smoking rings that would be great). Smoking is just perfect and I will never quit.

It took me until I was 15 to light up for the first time, although years before I knew I would be a smoker. I can remember a conversation when I was 9 years old where I declared my intention to become a smoker. As soon as I lit up for the first time I understood that from that day forward I was a smoker. God, it was beautiful. I never coughed my head off or felt sick, and as soon as I butted out I wanted to smoke again, and so I did. It didn't take long for me to become a regular smoker. Buddies who were already addicted warned me that I'd get hooked, but I was cool with that and sure enough I was addicted within a few days. I loved to smoke and I wanted to smoke all the time. It was the beginning of a love affair with cigarettes that has now lasted 30 years, with no end in sight. By the summer after I graduated from high school, I was two-packing it every day. People commented I was young to be smoking that much, but I responded that it was my habit now, and that I was comfortable being a heavy smoker. I've never looked back on that decision, and I've never smoked a cigarette I didn't enjoy.
As time has gone on, I've observed the physical changes that go along with smoking: developing the deep raspy voice, the wicked cough in the morning, the cold hands and the heavy lungs at the end of the day. But if that's the price I pay to smoke, so be it. Bring it on. Being a smoker is part of who I am, and a long time ago I accepted that and moved on.
I started on Winstons, because that's what the cool guys at school smoked. Then I moved on to Winston 100s. Over the years I've smoked Marlboro 100s, Mores for a time, Newport 100s, and for the last five or six years Marlboro Menthol 100s. Smoking is still cool and fun and pleasurable for me, and as long as that's true I'll continue to smoke with no regrets. Generally I smoke about 50 a day, beginning with the one I light up as I roll over in bed in the morning. I smoke three or four before I get up, and from then on I suppose I light up every 20 minutes or so.
My only regret is that we don't live at a time when smoking is socially accepted any longer. I work a lot from home, so there are not many limitations on when and where I can smoke, but there are times when I'm out and I wish I could smoke and can't. But then again, who knows how many I'd smoke every day if I could? Three packs? More?
Smoke on my friends!

Well i have always loved the smell and look of people smoking their cigarettes, especially women. When i was young i was trying to decide if cork or all white cigarettes were for me. Coming out of an all smoking house also helps.
Well im 15 and i was hanging out with freinds and one of my freinds pulled out a pack of Marlboro Lights 100's. She offered me one and i took it. it took a while to get used to but i kept on trying and then another one of my freinfs who's 18 pulled out a pack of her cigarettes. I told her to buy me some Marlboro Lights 100's and lighters and she did. About three weeks of smoking and hiding, i finally got a craving. I waited for my parents to go out shopping to smoke. They came back early and caught me but were actually ok with it because the said they started smoking at the ages of 15 and 16. so my parents buy me my Marlboro golds and lighters and ahtrays. i smoke alot with my mom and dad. my girlfreind liked when i smoke so i started teaching her how. well shes addicted and now lives with me because her parrents actually kicked her out. she smokes the same brand as me.
i absolutely love smoking because it makes me feel complete. its just so relaxing and my parents dont mind and my girlfreind smokes and like it took. she and i do smoking kisses and its really fun.

Hi, I started smoking on my 18th birthday. My best friend started before me and it was just something we could do together. After trying her cigarettes for a few months, I found inhaling very pleasureable and I made my mind up when I was old enough I wanted to start smoking regularly. While my parents were smokers they were against me starting but quickly got used to the idea once they saw smoking was not a passing fad. I started on Marlboro 100s, had my glamorous Virginia Slims faze, then Benson and Hedges, Merits and finally I've been smoking Merit ultra-light 100s for over ten years. I've quit twice, as recently as a month ago, but found I missed smoking so very much, I had to start again. I was up to 30-40 cigarettes a day but now I'm trying to keep it at around 25 a day. I admit I'm very addicited to cigarettes but smoke more because I enjoy the feeling of inhaling and the taste.

I started smoking when I was 13, and my brother (who is 3 years younger than me) started about the same time. Even though my parents were smokers, they were fiercely against either Rob or me starting, so we used to save our pocket money and go to the friendly newsagents, who were happy to sell ciggies to under-age kids. Then we'd cycle down one of the local lanes, hide in the bushes, and smoke. It's funny, but even now, 25 years on, a sneaked cigarette seems more enjoyable!
When I started uni at age 18, I smoked 2 ciggies a day. When I graduated, I smoked 10 a day. My consumption peaked in my late twenties at about a pack a day, and is now at about 15 a day. So I've been smoking for about 25 years, and still enjoy every one of them! Favourite brand is Marlboro Lights, and probably always will be.

i come from a family of smokers. i had quite a few aunts, friends of the family, etc that smoked, it was pretty much an accepted thing. when my sisters and i got to high school, each of us were permtted to smoke by the time we were 16 or so.
i began smoking by sneaking winston's from my gramma. i'd take one or two and go on the hill behind our house, where i kept a lighter. when i was permitted to smoke, my brand of choice was marlboro lights - pretty much all the other kids in school that smoked had picked that brand. i had a pretty kewl aunt that had me smoking her salems by the time i got out of high school.
when i got to college, i went more "glam" with my brands. i smoked virginia slims menthols, and parliments. i was a pac to a pac and a half a day smoker then. it took a while, but i did get out of college! by that time i was pretty much a 2 pac a day smoker, i prefered salems, but i smoked newports and kools too.
out of college and on my own, my smoking habit became a larger part of what was important to me about myself. i tended to date men who were looking for smokers (thank goodness for the internet!) and i began to more fully explore fet--- issues and the choices they offered. i strayed away from vs 120s (i hate light cigarettes) and became a max menthol smoker when i preferred a 120, but salem 100s remained my brand of choice, as it is today. i can burn thru about half a pac or more throughout the day while i am working, when home in the evenings i usually smoke close to 2 pacs or more. i still prefer salems, i buy them by the carton, but if i have a date coming up etc i will get a pac or two of max menthols. i will buy a pac of kool 100s or newport 100s when the mood strikes.

My name is Maria and I'm a smokegirl from another website. I'm 21 and I started smoking when I was 11 years old when I stole a pack of cigs from a neighbor. I smoke a little over a pack a day and I smoke Maverick Reds. Sometimes I smoke Marlboro Reds. I love full flavor cigarettes. I've tried to quit but I just wound up smoking more in the long run. I think I'm sexy when I smoke.
